چکیده
TRB 2004 Annual Meeting CD-ROM Paper revised from original submittal. 2 ABSTRACT Simulation modeling is an increasingly popular and effective tool for analyzing transportation problems that are not amendable to study by other means. For any simulation study, model calibration is a crucial step to obtaining any results from analysis. This paper presents a systematic, multi-stage procedure for the calibration and validation of PARAMCIS simulation models. The procedure is demonstrated in a calibration study with a corridor network in the southern California. The model validation results for the study network are also summarized.

Developing a Model of Heterogeneity in Driver’s Behavior
Intelligent Driver Model (IDM) is a well-known microscopic model of traffic flow within the traffic engineering societies. While it is a powerful technique for modeling traffic flows, the Intelligent Driver Model lacks the potential of accommodating the notion of drivers’ heterogeneous behavior whenever they are on roads. Concerning the above mentioned, this paper takes the lane to recognize th...

متن کاملParameter Calibration Method of Microscopic Traffic Flow Simulation Models based on Orthogonal Genetic Algorithm
Traffic microscopic traffic simulation models have become extensively used in both transportation operations and management analyses, which are very useful in reflecting the dynamic nature of transportation system in a stochastic manner. As far as the microscopic traffic flow simulation users are concerned, the one of the major concerns would be the appropriate calibration of the simulation mod...
متن کاملGenetic Algorithm-Based Combinatorial Parametric Optimization for the Calibration of Microscopic Traffic Simulation Models
In this paper, we introduce GENOSIM: Genetic Optimizer for Traffic Micro-simulation Models. GENOSIM is developed as a pilot software, employing state of the art combinatorial parametric optimization to automate the tedious task of calibrating traffic microscopic simulation models. The employed global search technique, Genetic Algorithms, is integrated with a dynamic traffic microscopic simulati...
